Juliet Sekandi

MBChB, DrPH

Juliet Sekandi, MBChB DrPH is a TB Principal Investigator and a CPS Core Investigator for TRAC. She is also an associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and works full-time in the Global Health Institute, both in the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia. Her research work has mainly focused on active case finding undiagnosed tuberculosis and HIV infected persons in urban communities in Uganda. The underlying premise of her work is that early detection of infectious cases of TB will shorten the delays in seeking effective treatment and thus interrupt transmission. She also evaluates the effectiveness of using digital technologies for health to improve medication adherence and other health outcomes in low-income countries.
